Hobson’s Ali Erickson elected Student VP of Mont. HS Rodeo Assoc.

Hobson Public Schools’ high school junior Ali Erickson was recently elected by her peers to serve as Vice President of the Montana High School Rodeo Association (MHSRA).

MHSRA is Montana’s statewide organization that is among 41 other states, 5 Canadian provinces, Australia and Mexico which are involved in the National High School Rodeo Association (NHSRA).

The junior high division is open to kids in grades 5th — 8th, and the high school division is open to kids in grades 9th — 12th (high school).

MHSRA members must turn in grades before fall and spring competitions and need to have at least a 2.0 grade point average to eligible as well as be in good standing academically to compete in high school or junior high rodeo.

There is an adult board of directors for MHSRA and a student officer for high school and junior high. Tike Erickson and Tuff Berg were junior high officers in 2023. Ali Erickson is High School Student Vice President this year.

Athletes are elected at the state finals by their peers.
